Cademuir, Nr Peebles

 

Terrain:  Mostly open hillside rising to just over 400m, with intricate contour detail in places.  The eastern slope of the hill is forested and contains the Start and Finish areas.  In the case of poor weather cagoules are advised.

 

Travel:  GR: NT251382.  From the centre of Peebles go south over the River Tweed on the B7062.  Imediately south of the bridge take the second right hand turn into Springhill Road.  After 300m turn right again and then immediately left into Bonnington Road.  Follow Bonnington Road southwards for 1.5km to the forest entrance.

 

Parking and Assembly are on forest roads.

 

Courses:  Full range of colour-coded courses, White to Brown. 

 

Map:  New map at scale 1:10000.  Courses will be overprinted onto maps on Pretex waterproof paper. 

 

Punching:  SI punching system.

 

Control descriptions:  Written for courses White to Orange and Red; pictorial for other courses.  They will be available at Assembly.

 

Cost:  £8 (£2 discount for Senior BOF members –proof of membership required).

£2:50 for Juniors and students.

 

Registration / Starts:  Registration will be from 10:30 to 12:30 and Starts from 11:00 to 13:00. 

 

Start / Finish:  The Start is about 600m from Assembly up a steep forest path.  The Finish is 300m from Assembly.  Don’t forget to punch at the Finish!
