The East of Scotland Orienteering Association (ESOA) exists to coordinate orienteering within the areas roughly designated by the Lothians, the Borders, Perthshire and the Kingdom of Fife.
There are seven Clubs in the Area, six Open (ELO, ESOC, INT, KFO, RR and TAY) and one Closed (EUOC). Details of contacts for the Clubs may be found in the link above.
Activities coordinated by the ESOA include a programme of Saturday afternoon Local Events for beginners, a Junior Coaching programme, and participation of an Area Junior Team in the annual Inter-Area Championships.
There is also a South of Scotland Orienteering League, in which the Area's Clubs are joined by others in the South of Scotland to stage District-level events each year, from September to May, and an East of Scotland Championships event with its own set of trophies.
The Area is also responsible for organising the Scottish Championships Weekend every three years (in rotation with the West and North Areas).
The Area is run by a Committee consisting of a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, and representatives of each Club. At present, the principal Officers are:
Chairman | John Barrow (INT) |
Secretary | Kirsteen Kershaw (ESOC) |
Treasurer | Janet Clark (ESOC) |
